Hey... Brock here.

If you’re reading this and wondering why
you got it: at some point you gave me
your email (probably via 𝕏 or LinkedIn).
Don’t worry, I won’t be too annoying.

You probably know me as the random
sometimes funny guy who posts a lot…
who also happens to know a decent
amount about social media growth.

I’ve been meaning to start this for a long time. I finally did.

This is The Attention Layer.

It’s a short, practical newsletter about:

  • how attention is actually earned on socials (not hacked)

  • why some accounts quietly compound while others stall

  • what works on 𝕏 now and what to ignore

  • principles of distribution that apply across social platforms

  • clear thinking around social growth, not recycled tactics

I’ll use 𝕏 as the primary case study because it’s the most honest real-time lab for attention — but the ideas translate just as well to LinkedIn, newsletters, and anywhere people compete for attention.

No courses.
No guru energy.
No “10 hooks that changed my life.”

Most issues will be 300–600 words, written like an internal memo.
One idea. One observation. One takeaway.

I’ll send this daily or on weekdays — still locking that in — but it will always be short and intentional.

If you’ve ever thought:

  • “Why does this account grow and that one doesn’t?”

  • “Why does most growth advice feel generic?”

That’s the lane.

One small ask (this helps a lot):
Hit reply and say hi… let me know if you’re still using social media daily, and where you’re posting on (X, LinkedIn, or somewhere else).

I read replies, and it helps make sure these emails land where they’re supposed to.

The first real issue will go out shortly while I finish sorting a few boring, but important backend things (domain and email setup).
It’ll be about why your first 1,000 followers don’t matter… and what actually does.

And if this ends up not being your thing, unsubscribing is always one click. No hard feelings.

That’s it for now.
Talk soon.
